I have a 96 LX accord I'm wanting to drop a H22A in it which should i build on the JDM one or the USDM one?

I was thinking
Je Pistons
Crower rods, rings?
J's racing intake?
rmf heads
Darton? AEBS? sleeves
What kinda catback is good?
Turbonetics turbo-8psi boost?
What kinda ECU/EMS?

im not too famliar with the H22As so all help is welcome

thx

Oh shit. You got that list all fucked up.
If your going to build the motor then the obvious choice is the USDM H22a4. And you DO NOT need RMF headers if you want to boost it. Shit if you want to just do some low boosting (10 psi and below) then you dont need to sleeve it. If you build this correctly and tune it perfectly you can run 10 psi on a stock block. And dont go getting some store bought cat-back. If you re-build the motor you can run 8 psi all day with a great tune. I recommend Crome Pro. A P28 ecu with Crome pro and a dyno tune will work wonders. Have you ever done an engine swap before? Figure out what you want to do then come back. I currently have a custom built turbo setup thats a side mount for an H22 that was producing 500 whp.

Hmmm the only swap I've ever done is a f20b in my 6th gen accord

What I really want to do is swaping the h22a and boosting it aiming @ around 450whp ish I'm pretty new to working on honda engines since I've only really worked on rx7

So a p28ecu with chrome pro eh

Most likely I'm gonna go to pete @ tsp for help he's my man :)

to be honest I would build and boost an h23. Its a bigger bore and a little more forgiving in the tunning area. But I have just heard way way to many horror stories about boosting the h22. Check that. I have personally built 2 h22's that lasted a few weeks before they ate the pistons, of those one of them melted down on the dyno while fine tunning it after a street tune. So I may be one sided.

Like soviet said, get your list together before you start building. Plan your budget, then expect to be at least 30% over what you planned to spend when its all said and done. Good luck and if you need help dont be affraid to ask.

Nice motor.. I'd go boost, but what you do internally will all depend on what exactlly you plan on making, and doing with the car. GL

Isn't the H22a4 open block whereas the a1 is a closed block?
