I saw this video at work yesterday and got pissed that I couldn't figure it out so I googled it

Nope you all have it wrong it is forward but the thing is that the knot is already tied under the pant leg and the laces you see is a second set which he is holding and is running down through his pants. He shakes his leg and pulls the other set of laces up while revealing the tied bow underneath. If you pause it at the right time you can see both the bow and the bottom of the second set of laces at the same time

That might also explain that black thing on his hip?
