Apex in Tucson raided?

I saw this posted on another board...

so just saw the owner of a Import performance shop being taken in handcuffs, and come to find out FBI raided the shop after catching a kid stealing cars and parts from stolen cars, and then selling them to the shop.

according to one of the arresting Officers, this guy is not gonna be having a shop anymore from the amount of stolen property found and already sold.

the only thing i feel bad for is the kids that bought the stolen parts, the guy was dumb and kept paperwork, so these stolen parts will all be hunted down by the Feds as evidence.

for anyone in AZ, the shop is ApexR on Speedway in Tucson.
this happened about 3 hours ago.

i didnt get the info from the police at the scene dear, i got it from someone in AZ with the FBI who had been investigating this particular shop for months.

like i said, this had been coming for while, the feds will take over, since some of the parts were from other states, hence the fed involvment.

A big time Honda thief was caught red-handed very recently (no names will be metioned) with a list of charges (almost 30 cars). We now think he is talking to the cops trying to get lesser charges. Of course one of the main Honda shops here in town is Addictive. They raided the place twice and really didn't have anything on Eric ( They actually thought Kwan still owned the place, shows how good they are) but they took all his computers and anything that didn't have paperwork (ie Japan motors etc). They figured act now and ask questions later, of course Eric was brought in for questioning. That is it for now.

The police are going off of information given to them from some punk little bitch trying to work a deal most likely. Of course the authorities will investigate at this point due to the severity of the kids criminal history.

not to rag on anyone or lean in anyones favor but Callin the cops is a very good idea or at least spreadin the word about theives. Because yes shit happens and alot of cops dont really care what happens as long as nobody gets shot but if they start seein alot more calls about people jackin cars then chances are they will start focusing some more attention on the situation because now they have become away of a previously largley unreported happenings. Also I know that if I was stealin shit (which i dont) if i heard that a bunch of people know what i did and that people were coming up to me because they heard that i was a theif that chances are i would kinda be a little bit more wary of my actions and may tend to shy away from stealin shit because people now know who is stealin shit. Which brings me to another topic if you post up here or make it public that a certain individual is stealing peoples shit then you get your stuff jacked definately report it because then you can have a solid list of suspects with proof backing up your suspicions on that person. Don't just let it go by the way side. Take action if not to save someone elses shit but also your own.

yes, i was apart of that.

we spoke with authorities and even lawyers. we got so far as an investigation that may still be ongoing im not sure but it came down to the fact that the owner of the car had already claimed on the car and it was no longer up to him to press charges, its in the insurance companies hands. and as far as we know they could or could not be pursuing it still, but i dont think they are going to keep us informed. they have all our pictures confessions and names they have more than enough if they wanted the people who did what they did. its all we could do man im sorry that isnt enough for you but im no vigilante and am not going to risk my life by going to these peoples houses and confronting them. many of which constantly bragged about owning and the willingness to use firearms.

we got a good majority of the parts back and a crud load accomplished i feel in fact i think that we took it farther than anyone ever has on this forum so dont question me man! i do what i can and as anyone who knows me can vouch i am not going to keep my mouth shut if i know something and or feel like i can shed some light on a subject.

You gotta remember, Honda's aren't the only cars being jacked. There is a large market for Dodge's, Ford's, larger SUVs, especially Escalades, Yukons etc., even exotics. Insurance companies have a lot of say over what the police do believe it or not. Who do you think pays for a lot of those wonderful radar guns and such? Yep, insurance companies donate them. Insurance companies WANT us to get caught so they can jack our premiums up. Back to my point though.

Insurance companies total a car when repairing it will cost ~70% of the cars total value. Sometimes they may find the car in pristine condition 3 weeks later, but have already wrote a check to the customer. We drive shit box, throw away cars that usually blue book at ~$5k (taking an average of all stolen Hondas). Lets use a 92-95 Si hatch for example-
Say the Civic is found, and the insurance company writes it off as totalled. They write a check for $4k (if your lucky and have receipts), and your on your way.

Now lets say an Escalade is stolen and found on bricks, interior ripped out, TV's, navigation etc etc. Older Escalades still blue book for around $20k. Insurance companies are required to pay up to $10k in repairs, which still isn't even 70% of an Escalades total value, so they are forced to repair it and lose their ass.

Now, coming from an insurance company(money making) stand point, who are they going to want the police to focus on more? For every Escalade stolen and totalled, they can total out 4-6 Honda's.

A lot of the numbers and information may vary depending on the state, city, and insurance company, but I think you get the idea.

I saw this posted on another board...

so just saw the owner of a Import performance shop being taken in handcuffs, and come to find out FBI raided the shop after catching a kid stealing cars and parts from stolen cars, and then selling them to the shop.

according to one of the arresting Officers, this guy is not gonna be having a shop anymore from the amount of stolen property found and already sold.

the only thing i feel bad for is the kids that bought the stolen parts, the guy was dumb and kept paperwork, so these stolen parts will all be hunted down by the Feds as evidence.

for anyone in AZ, the shop is ApexR on Speedway in Tucson.

I actually put a dead lock on my door, because i would notice my personal belongins moving around in my room.
