Poor Mans Type R

What would i need to do a poor mans Type R? i Have the complete b16a head but for the gsr block would i need to do anything? or just mount on the b16 head?

type R pistons, and type R valve train with R cams and a mild PnP on the head. and a skunk2, blox, or ITR intake manifold.

why would you do that why not just keep the gsr head and do the the same thing to the gsr i dont see how it would make more power with a b16 head

There's a reason Honda used the B16 head casting for Type-R's. :)

The b16 Casting simply outflows the b18c1 casting. Therefore replicated a Type R motor woudl be Easier and more cost effective using the b16 casting seeing as the Type R is basically a factory ported b16 casting with an upgraded valvetrain.

when my 93 GS integra burned out.. i just went with type r pistons & crank, tranny, eagle rods, ek9 crank pulley, GSR stock head, water pump & oil pump.. threw some Denso plugs in with the mix, & i just made a mini-type r.. was a killer.. killed b16b & the real type r b18c5... but was a shitty highway chaser.. i knew guys that did the b16 head with gsr block vtec controller & killed me on the highway but for 1/4 mile type r tranny kills all.. good luck p.s. time wise took 2 guys & me a week to finish...

i am doing one right now and i am having some firing trouble cylinder 2-3 are not firing and im getting an o2 check engine any body know why
