View Full Version : b20vtec 99 civic Help ?

I just finished my b20 vtec, It fires up, and idles, but rough.. also bogs when u give it gas. i did obd2 -obd1 conversion harness w/ p30. timing is good fire, fuel ect. good. It acts like the timing is off.. I could really use some help. Thanks

i would check the cam timing. and do you have adjustable gears?? check those as well. what injectors are you using? maybe to big?? it could be alot of things. how rough does it run??

i say change the ecu, buddy had same problem had a p30, then got a p72

that cant be the problem on my car!! the map is on the fire wall with the purge solenoid. and the TPS is well obviously on the trottle body.

Sweet trhanks for all the help... Still not running right. timing is dead on, no adjustables, not the tps or map. stock sohc injectors, swapped out dizzy and putter, and conversion harr. maybe something else....?

it sounds like youre using the wrong ecu. a buddy of mine had the same problem when he swapped a b20 into his ek. ill try to find out what ecu he had to run.

If everything is OK then it's ECU... I had the same problem, tried different ECUs and no luck... finally put a HONDATA s200 and that did the trick......

I finally figured it out. I had to bypass the crank positioning sensor, then it started running good. also added a little more fuel with a FPR.... thanks again for all the help..
