well my car idles up and down between 1000-1500rpm's when i first start the car in the morning but thats probably cuz its cold, but recently it started doing it when i come to a light or something but doesnt always do it? a few people said the iacv but i dunno if thats it any other options that it could be or not?

its the thermal IACV thats under the throttle body with the water lines going to it. take it off and plug it. you dont need that damn thing!

possibly the idle screw, mine did it for a long time, tightened my idle screw, idles at like 700 now.... sooo yea try that

on the throttle body... its a flathead screw that goes in the throttle body... the head is facing away from the left idk how else to describe... let me go grab a photo

but idk for sure if thats wuts wrong, i just kno that mine would go in a constant motion from a grand to 1500 rpms, and once i adjusted this screw, it hasnt happened since

ok be back in a few, going to see, do i tighten it or what? or just start the car and adjust it till it idles fine?

yea, turn on the car, and adjust, i had to TIGHTEN mine to get it to idle normal... it may be different

figures, when i go to try something the damn thing idles fine!!! i guess ill just have to wait until it does it again, thx for the tip tho!:clap:

Fast idle Valve / Thermo valve is my vote

ur probably right, mine did that constantly, and that was the fix... so yea

The IACV is on the BACK of the manifold near the firewall, the FIV (fast idle valve/thermovalve) is under the throttle body.

IACV = compensation for A/C and PS at idle.
FTIV = idling at cold. it acts as the choke i guess wait thats the CTS nvm...

screw= high consatnt idle

adjusting your idle will just mask the problem, and cause other problems. dont touch it.
im with ravi. fiv stuck open or just slappin around in there

no coolant temp sensor doesnt control idle, not directly anyway
