I Was Wondering ... Can U Still Pass Emissions Wit A Test Pipe. I Was Told No Cuz Of Some Shit Wit The O2. But I Know That Omni Makes A Test Pipe Wit A O2 Bung So U Can Still Use Ur O2... So Yes Or No.. And Another Question If U Already Have A Aftermarket Cat Is It Worth Switching To A Test Pipe ... Cuz Right Now I Have A Random Technology Cat That I Paid A Pretty Penny For... Is It Worth Swithchn.... Thanxxx

No you won't be able to pass smog with a test pipe in your car. You will trip a CEL for the secondary O2 sensor, probably for catalyst efficiency.

if ur trying to make power get a high flow cat and then u have a much better chance of passing emissions importtechperformance on here sells them rather cheap  GL

if u have an ek like i take it, as long as youre not throwing a check engine light youll be ok. as long as your check engine light turns on when you turn the key to on the position, and then shuts off when the engine is started, you should be good. but like these guys are saying if you dont have a bunge for both 02 sensors, youll throw a code..-----> p0420

Give me a pro vs. con on test pipe vs HP Cat - I have friends that rock both, neither can tell me which gives more performance.

Correct me if I am wrong but a test pipe is just the Cat removed and a piece of straight pipe installed in its place?

I have a magnaflow high flow cat and it still throw off the CEL light. Ive heard that a test pipe is better for hp becuz its less restricted (because of the straight pipe, or hollow feature), it is preferably for a turbo setup (thats what Im thinking of doing). Back to the subject... I looked around and was going to get an 02 simulator, some were pretty pricey so I kept researching, then I found a thread that talked about making an adapter to the 02 sensor with spark plug non foulers and connecting it to the 02 bunge on the high flow cat. 1000 miles plus since Ive done this and NO CEL light  ! On the thread it said it would work the same way with a test pipe. Its pretty easy to do also.

you do know that a new cat from HONDA is $999 right? I'll take the $250 random one over the OEM any day.

if you use a Cel fix you can pass without having a cat. my brother doesnt have any cats on his 05 STI

if its obd2 and you get a resistor hooked up to ur secoundary o2 sensor giving it a load thats withitin the acceptable range and it doesnt trip a CEL your golden. If its obd or obd1 then your gonna have to actually have the exhaust tested, in that case the numbers wouldnt lie

Im telling you, the spark plug non foulers takes less tehn 15 minutes to do adn you dont have to mess with anything or change ur cat...They were like 4.99 at autozone. Cheap, quick, easy and reliable. IMO
