What up guys I put a 93 d15bz1 motor in my 90 civic hatch and I cant get it to pass emissions
Im running a vx ecu but I m not running a 5 wire o2 sensor.
Could this be my problem?
Or could my cat be out?
Heres the results
My car Normal
HC 3.75 1.00
CO 106.99 12.00
NOX 0.32 2.50

Now heres the previous results when I run it with a p28 ecu
My Car
HC 2.34
CO 43.95
Nox 1.80

And I put about 2 can of denatured alcohol in the tank so that wont work.

If you run the VX ECU, you NEED a 5-wire O2.

And it's a D15Z1, not d15bz1. :hi:

I have the stock engine and all i did was run fuel cleaner a couple times and took it in running 91 grade gas and switched the cat. i dunno, maybe your cat?

He's converted to OBD-1 if he's using a VX ECU. :hithead:

hook up the o2. couldent hurt and you will need to eventually anyway. i thought it was a 4 wire o2?

VX is a 5-wire outside of Cali; in Cali it's a 4-wire.
DX/LX/EX/Si is a 4-wire.
CX is a 1-wire outside of Cali; in Cali it's a 4-wire.

(just did some searching)

took it in running 91 grade gas

Why did you do that? Higher octane fuel will cause higher emissions!
