In Order of BEST and pricey to good and affordable

K20/K24 Swap {approx 200hp}

B18c Type-R {approx 190hp}

B18c GSR {approx 180hp}

B18a LS {approx 147hp} {I put this ahead of the b16a as it has more torque and a stronger bottom end as well as being able to use 87 octane and the swap runs about the same cost if not less than the b16a}

B16a {approx 170hp}

D15b sohc Vtec JDM {approx 130hp{

These are just my .07

OBD-1 DOHC ZC > D15B for the same reason that the B18B > B16A: torque.

fuck SBF

go BBC 572 (no need to mod the chassis, you'll do just fine twisting the car in half)

I say LSV with Type R cams and Pistons.

By the time you do that you may as well have done a REAL Vtec Longblock and not have to worry about oil pump, bearing, sleeve, rod failure.
