just wondering which blocks dont need an oil pump change....? i have a B18B1 just not sure on the oil pump. i have heard that some of the pumps are the P-72 stock and dont need to be switched. thanks

pre 98 blocks need to be changed! or maybe its pre 96. i know it one or the other!!

yeah all obd2 b series motors have the same oil pump is what ive heard from honda-tech and a few respectable members of there site.

can anyone get them for a good price? i have 3 lsvtecs im building... the one i was wondering about is a 94 ls block..... thanks

go to acuraautomotiveparts.org and buy it. not gonna get much cheaper than $120'ish form that site due to shipping.

96 and older have the bad pumps, but atleast check out the pumps on the other two youre building they might need replaced.

i can get them through a dealer for $105 shipped... p72 pump.

so should the rod bolts be replaced on a LS/vtec even if you dont plan on taking it past 7k?

i didnt and mine was fine until my oil pump/pan failed... i didnt go past 7200... but i wanted to so many times though. you will... i know you will. you'll want more. then when you take it higher, it'll break and you'll wish you swapped for some ARP's.

be sure to get the ARP's for th LS/B20 they're smaller 8mm than the gsr/b16/itr bolts... fyi

i ordered head studs and rod bolts last night. ordering sandwhich plate and oil hose tonight when i get home:)
