Cupholders SUCK

:pissed:Anyone have any solution to the crappy cupholders in my 00 EK? :pissed:

I have dumped an entire cup of coffee in my shift boot, and water bottles or soda cans go flying when I shift into second or make a turn. :tits:

There is some sort of spacer (removable) on the right cup holder that I have no clue what its for. Its like a 1/4" thick so its not like a reducer or anything useful. :lame:

I have seen a JDM replacement cupholder assembly, has anyone got one? Does it help?

Any other solutions would be appreciated!:blunt:

Yea dude i had the same issue. I was going to a job interview and i shoved a 64oz thrust buster in to my cup holder i missed the street i had to turn on and my drink was all down my leg and all over my car it sucked i just went home after that and hit the car was... What a bad day

ya they are useless, i ended up taking them out, and mounting the deck in that little slot above them, need to work on putting cupholders in the original deck spot..

the SI or 99-00 ones are a lil big. i changed out mine to the 96-98. work good for me.

the same. except have a tray that pops out for the cup holders. has a big open pocket with a lower deck space like the 96-98.

I think I might have an extra 96-98 Cup Holder to fix your problem. Check my for sale thread in my sig. I had a couple of these at one point.

I have the SiR cupholders in my EK. The downside to them is they don't hold much more than a can of soda. Tapered cups get stuck in there pretty easy.

I\'ve spilled like 3 soda on my carpet and I don\'t know how much coffee in my shift boot. Know, I just use them for change holder. I gave up.

yeah those seem too small now! Agh!! I can't win! Where do they install anyways? In the slot behind the stock cup holders? Or do I have to remove my stereo to install cup holders!!!!!:dumbass:

I like the beer coozie idea though, I will cut my black beer coozie in half (Till I find a Honda coozie) and see how that works.

i never had a problem with the cup holders in my 97 civic. they were big enuff to hold any size drink. i miss having them cus the ones in my teg suck ass.

Yep, thats what Honda had in mind when they designed them. They said, "lets make a cup holder that doesn't work for any size drink. If they buy a huge 44oz drink then the cantilever from the Center Console will make them tip their drink to put it in, then when they shify it will tip over directly into their cupholders" And some Engineer signed off on that sh-t. I mean a soda can tips over in them!

I won't give up, I will fabricate something if I have too.

just get skilled and when you shift or turn hold your drink. I have the 99-00 cupholders with the oversized one on the pass. side and I like them more than the 96-98 ones. but have to be skilled cause I'll be damned if I let soda dump on my CTR shift boot haha.

Classic. I am just getting Propel, or water with the sport top from now on, no sticky sh-t, no coffee.

Another note, when I get huge drinks, you always have to get the tall straw, then you have to tilt your drink to get it in the cupholder(possible spilage) and repeat that procedure when you try to get a drink, and my straw is bent all up under the dash, I mean who engineered these things!
