I am loking to make about 140WHP, I am starting with my y5, and aqquiring a z6 head, has standard bolt ons, now, what kind of head work on the head is needed? I have researched alot of cams, any opinions on those? I read alot of d-series.org stuff, but didnt find exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the help in advance to Simon and all others who are helping out with my questions!

AKMEE Engineering, my friend Frank runs them. His D16Z6 made 143 WHP with just their cam, valvetrain, and I think he whacked the head a little. But mostly stock bottom end. I'm serious, if you want good power, that's what you need. Let me know and I'll put you in contact with him.

ZC pistons....comp cam...decent header....skunk manifold....should make over 140....just get that bitch tuned cuz of the high compression....

i would go with some vitara ycp 12:1 compression pistons. and just get a valve job, some new valve springs etc. easily make around 150hp on a good tune,

YES! A DOHC guy that actually knows good info about SOHC's! Thanks Justin, saved me the trouble!

Vitara's are from Suzuki's and DROP your compression a bunch, not raise it.

PM7's/P29's raise it a whole lot, PM6's raise it a bit over stock Z6/Y5/Y7/Y8 pistons.

i used c-speed's calculator with a d16z6 block, z6 head, P2E (y7) pistons (3.32 dish) and 2 layer d16y8 gasket net at 11.9 cr. hey.......i have some P2E pistons

nevermind. i put in height an not dome. drops u to 9.4 cr. stick with PM7's or you can get some PDN from the civic GX. with the combo i used with PM7's you get 13.2 cr and with PDN youll get around 12.1. PM7' and P29's will give you the same cr

ya, but they arent "vitaras". "vitaras" are called that since they are out of a suzuki grand vitara. they fact that they fit are just a fluke. high compression vitaras is an oxymoron

Exactly. Thank you. :)

If you believe everything you see on EBay, no offense, you're an idiot.

Don't forget the overlooked power adders, get a good anti-reversion header, a portmach for the intake, tb, and head. And last a good tune, a good tune equals money.
