ya, your map sensor tells your ecu how much fuel to add to the mixture of air through pressure in the manifold. bad map = bad fuel mixture = bad motor performance

thats what i thought but to replace the map sensor u got to replace the whole friggin throttle body

ur looking at the tps, and also, it is the map that sees the air to come in and what fuel to add, the TPS tell the car how much fuel to add by tip in... so u need both, i am running without a TPS right now (Well wheni had my car) and it would run lean, which u lose power from also, all in all, it takes both to work right...

but ecu throws a code for the map. so make sure before you go spend 250 on a map that its the problem.

start at the source...make sure that its getting fuel pressure at the filter. then after the fuel rail.

no. OBD stands for on board diagnostics. since its OBD-0 it has no on board diagnostics ability, so in short no they cant. just look at your ecu and see whats codes it throwing

ok, if im understanding that right. it would be a 7 and a 17 right?

if thats it....then its the TPS(throttle position sensor) and vehicle speed sensor.

does your speedometer cut out sometimes?

Map sensor basically measures load through speed/density. Not airflow, that would be a mass air flow. Did you check out the vacuum line to the map or is it the style that mounts directly on the throttle body?

go get a tps, make sure your speedo is plugged in. that should fix it.

it pluggs into the throttle body
