I'm happy with my AEM cold air. Your not gonna see any differences in intakes unless your on a dyno anyway. If you get a short ram it's gonna be a little louder than a cold air. Just a heads up.

i dont like the front mount intake. looks rice just cuz it seems like a FMIC but not. my friend got a ebay CAI and didnt do too badly. he said he didnt really notice a huge difference between it and his (stolen) AEM CAI. this was on a mitsubishi eclipse BTW

all you need is a good filter

hawaii_DA6

find a DC2 Stock intake. and get High flow filter.

Manufacturers spend countless hours refining, researching, and developing Factory Intake systems. The Selica content in Hondas Factory intake arms are to reduce conductive heat transfer, to both the throttle boddie, and to the air passing through it. Whenever you install an aluminum or like metal counterpart, the engine bay heat has a much easier time heat soaking the Intake arm/ and or box/ filter.

Why do you think all High end aftermarket or factory Intake Systems utilize expensive materials such as Mugen's, J's Racing, and Gruppe M's Carbon Fiber pieces. as well as the high end carbon plastic/ selica pieces.

x2. I have an aluminum no name intake ont my car right now, and on the dyno it heat soaked so bad you couldn't even touch the manifold! Joe (LOCASH) said he's never seen one heat soak that bad. That's the only thing NOT stock in the intake system. I'd love to put a stock or another composite type intake on mine, but cannot justify that kind of money on that. Speaking of which, and not to be a thread theif, but I have an EG with a B16. Right now I have the stock EG intake box and filter and all, but some crap ass aluminum tube to connect it to the throttle body since they're different diameters from either the stock 95 DX OR the stock 99 Si one. Anyone know what will fit in there for using that stock setup?

Are talking about the high end ones I mentioned? if so, then try $300 - $1000 instead of $200.

and the gains are a little higher than 1-2 horse.

and the gains are a little higher than 1-2 horse.ok well my point is an aem is wat like $250? and an ebay one is around $30. im sure on a stock b16 making 160hp with a ebay intake it will make about 163hp. then with an aem i doubt more then 170hp. just my opinion and dam 300-1000 for an intake is ridicoulis i can piece together a whole turbo kit for that much and make 10x the power.

um... turbo=engine wear far greater than a stock na car... some people like things to LAST... and you can find used aem's for about the cost of an ebay one 50-60bux...

you are correct it won't hurt it "that much" however it will cause more wear & will wear down an engine at a much higher rate, plain & simple. :but: :offtopic2:

ps. I love boost

i have to admit the front mount intake looks pretty gay, rice, or whatever the hell the term is for it..
yet, a buddy sold me one for my wife's 00Si (25$ had to take it!), it works better than her AEM, WHEN your on the freeway, doing over 80mph... From what I can tell if your doing 80+ it seems to have some ram air effect. but only 80+.

would i pay a 100$ for one, hell no.. but if you can find one cheap, they are not too bad, if you can get over everyone asking "Is that turbo'd???"..

Now in my Integra with the JDM Type R motor, i'm using your 30$ ebay CAI special.. and I was thinking about wrapping it to reduce heat... Anyone tired this? suggestions? comments? buler? buler? buler?
