so i need to get a stereo out of one of my cars and put it in another. if i was just going to remove it and throw it away, i would gank it out with a knife or something but i don't want to damage it.

are those little tool things that you use to remove decks universal? does anybody know where i can get a pair? if they aren't universal, i need some for an eclipse deck... chronic car audio wants 50 bucks for removal and install into a new car, and i'm trying to save some $$$.

trust me i have tried with screwdrivers. i dont want to break/bend any of the surrounding metal thing though because then it will be a bitch to get back in. ill pay somebody less than 50 bucks to drive to me in tempe and switch it over to my other car how does that sound??? hahahaha

depending on what eclipse deck you have and what car it's in depends on how you remove it.
but, for most applications there should be a small clip on the left and right side of the deck, if you can use a screwdriver to push those towards each other then pull on the deck it should come out.
