has anyone ever put a non vtec head on a vtec block. like an ls head on a B16? can this work?? i have a fully built ls head but no short block to put it on except for my B16. and i need to get a motor together.. any input would be appreciated!

man that would be like the worst b motor ever made. the worst block and the worst head. i guess you will just have the outcome of a shitty motor. but no idk what all you would have to do.

i just need to get a motor together. and thats all i got to work with. would i need to plug the vtec oil passage in the block? LS head studs? any one who has done this please chime in!

why not snag a cheapo LS shortblock instead?

you'd have to get oil to the head somehow, but not via the VTEC oil passage.
I'd imagine u'd be using LS headbolts as the bolts are totally different lengths for the VTEC heads (they are longer i think) and a B16 headgasket.

but seriously, dont do it!

yeah i think ill just sell the B16 long block and buy an LS or B20 shorty.
