Look at the head stamp, is it pr-3 or p72?
Is the transmission 'flywheel plate/guard' thick metal bracket or thin plate?
Do the pistons say p73? ;)

All jdm itr motors are the same as jdm gsr hince the p72 oil pan... The differences are there is a R on the rods and a R stamped on the crank i believe...Check and make sure the head is a 96 and that it is a pr3...Then if u want check by the distributer there should be green coloring on the head itself...

Note: If the head has been worked on at all, the Green coloring is likely to be missing.
