i have a 89 civic with the battery moved to the back. it tipped over and the positive terminal hit the tire well.... nothing happened... now the ignition switch will go to "on" but wont start the car. i replaced the fuse under the hood, replaced the starter, i also checked the fuses under the dash and they were good. any suggestions?.

you could have messed up the ignition switch or burned some wires. how long was the battery shorted out on the fender?

big click or just nothing? big click means ignition switch. could have also shorted the starter. take the panel off and test the ignition switch (white wire? or black/yellow?) when you try to start the car and see what the voltage is.

i switched out the battery earlier today... the ignition switch was really hot.... normal? it clicks and you have to move it back and forth to get it to start....but it does
