View Full Version : ep3 clutch need help!!!

it looks like this thread is really picking up...well i just bought a fujita cold air intake i finished installing it by the instructions. i noticed that my clutch was hitting it i couldnt change to my top gears 1,3,and 5. has anyone had this problem. i just bought the car so im thinking the guy before me did something with the clutch.
any info would be appreciated.

Take intake off and see if it still happens. If it does then the intake is hitting the shift cables at the tranni.

yea thats exactly what its doing...is it just my car or the intake? cause i followed the instructions straight up...

is it just my intake? its a fujita and it says its for a 02-05 civic si hb im pretty sure i installed it correctly...can i see pics of your guys set up just to get an idea

dude it cant be the intake. intakes on a k never go that direction with a cai. if it is a short ram then that could be the problem. just check your cable and cable bushings. also take your shift boot and check for wires hitting the shift levers

yea thats what i was thinking but it said cold air...thats why i needed to look at someone elses setup and also im new to the k

Post a pic and it will be easy to tell. Or have someone shift while you look. Did the intake go into the fender or stay in the engine bay?

it went into the fender...i place a short ram for now since im going to cali this weekend. ill try and take a pic of where it was hitting as soon as possible...thanks for all the help guys!

it is the intake...it is a common problem with CAI on k series cars...cause the intake tube goes right by the weight at the end of the shift lever on the transmission.

you just have to try and mount the intake as far forward toward the radiator as possible.

loosen all the bolts and clamps and try to pull it / twist it into a better position then retighten everything

^^ exactly. Did instructions not say to put into 5th gear while installing? My buddy did fujita on his rsx and had the same problem....hence why i got an injen ;)

pm EPME. he installed one on his ep3 and had no problems at all. he removed his bumper to install it. dont know if that matters to you

thanks for all the advice guys i installed the short ram for now since i needed to go to cali but in the near future im looking to install the cold air so ill will hit all you guys up.
