doesnt pop vtec

my 98 ex doesnt pop vtec. I heard from ppl that my d16y8 has vtec but i dont feel nor hear anything. anybody kno why?

if it's a y8 it has v-tec an it may actually be working it could be that your not noticeing it

is ur car stock my buddys car when stock couldnt really here the vtec kick in but once he put an intake on that sucker u can hear it nice and clear

the y8 has vtec bro. its kind of hard to hear it or feel it if its all stock though. throw an aftermarket cam in it and chip your ecu if you really wanna hear it. my buddy has a cam in his z6, and it kicks and sounds like a b series.

I had the same problem in my prelude. I had a bronken o-ring in my oil filter they s aid so there wasnt any pressure building up or something so after the fixed it I got VTEC back!!

Check your knock and Vtec sensors, if you have a check engine light one, chances are your engine is in "limp mode" and Vtec won't engage.

With Single V-tec cams, its hard to hear the vtec engage (your right, around 5K RPM), but who cares if you can hear it or not, the questions is, can you feel it.

If you can't, add some mods, I am listening for police sirens, not vtec!
