I have an ls/vtec (B16 head). The timing belt keeps sliding in to the plastic cover behind the crack pulley. I have tightened the tensioner as tight as I can get it. I am currently using a gsr timing belt. Should I be using a different belt? If so which one. Any help would be appreciated?

Use whatever T-belt that matches your water pump (VTEC water pump, VTEC belt).

If the belt is sliding outwards it can be due to slight irregularities in the tensioner.. is it a new tensioner?

I am using a new B16 pump and a B16 tension that had about 35,000 miles on it. Should I try to replace the tensioner with a new one?

if the belt is sliding into the covers, you have the crank pulley belt guides on backwards.....
the little steel like washers on the back side and front side of the oil pump gear.......

Thanks for the info. I will pull the pulley off and check those.
