I just bought a 1990 integra LS auto. It has an alarm which unlocks the doors when you turn it off. So we have been having problems with the car just dying out of nowhere while in motion and also wont start sometimes. Anyways, so I did some research and think it might be the neutral safety switch. I also learned that a lot of alarm installers use the neutral safety switch wires in their installs. Could a faulty install be making the car die while on the road or not start while sitting?

They are only tied into when the car gets a remote start installed. Even then most the time they don't tie into the wire. The only way the alarm can cause the car to die while running is if it has an ignition kill. This also is almost never done.

Turned out to be the ignition switch that went bad, thank god!
