ok dont know were to post this so ill try here

i bought a 99 ex civic with a d16 vtec first day i drive it to work engine overheated and blew on me,

go to TSP get an engine swap pay around 2200 everything is ok now

but now things are breaking on it first the distrubutor, and now they intake mani from what they say is not the right one it is supposed to have???? made no sence

so today i decide to take a look under the hood to see what engine i have

find out it says d15b????? thats not a d16 so wanted to know what you guys think i should do

stay with the d15 or go back and get my d16 correct swap
is there really any difference between them?? better or worse????

d15b is a sick motor I would stay with it I currently have a d16y8 an it's a good motor but so is the d15b if your having problems with it see if tsp will fix it u did pay them for the swap an all I didn't know they were charging 2200 for the swap a d15b is a pretty cheap motor I think most of what you paid went to labor but that's usually how things go if there claiming the intake mani is incorrect ask them why they gave you the wrong intake mani. or just go with a skunk 2 in mani

It didn't really make that much of a difference. May have helped out throttle response but it was not that noticeable.

hmmm... i'm not 100% on that one if there is it's so small that it's not a big deal. If your looking for power than boost the sohc motor. That's what I did an I can't complain.
