can you reduce the search criteria to be able to include 3 letter searches ?
MANY of the terms we use for honda's are 3 letters ( em1, dc2, ep3, rsx, fit, eg6, ek9 )
It is hard to narrow the classifieds mainly when only looking for say EP3 parts.
Let me know what you think.

I looked into making it only 3 letters. The thing is, to change it now with the site having over 500,000 total posts so far, the software has to work a shitload harder to pull results which can make the searching time extremely long or time out and not provide any results at all.
I gathered other opinions on this and it doesn't seem like a good idea to implement now. Maybe when the site had less posts it wouldn't be so bad to change.

would pruning the database to shave off very old threads and posts be an option ?
just seems like there are SO MANY 3 character things that would be searched for. seems like it would be a good thing. but i see where your coming from too.

I figured out an efficient way to change the search to 3 characters.
So have at it guys.
