So my co worker has an Acura Legend, and he is having a weird overheating issue. He said the thermostat was just changed, so I am unsure of what the issue is from the way he describes it. After normally warming up to where it normally runs, it will raise all the way up to hot, then come back down, back up and down.... Its kicking the coolant from the radiator to the reservoirs, and then just over flowing the resovoir. Any ideas? Is that a water pump issue? Thanks for any help, he will certainly appreciate it.

im going to say that who ever put in the thermostat didnt do a very good job of getting the air out of the cooling system. my advice let the car warm up normaly turn the heater on and pop of the radiator cap. if there are bubbles coming out then he needs to let it run for a little bit to get all the air out. then refill it.

sounds like a bad radiator cap. expecially if it does it right after you start it.
