overheatin, and burning coolant, im switchin the gaskets allready, water pump, and timin belt, but i wanna take the head so they can check it before i put everythin back together

any machine shop should be able to magnaflux it for you.

id just spend the money on a new head. would cost the same as magnafluxing it lol

i dont think you can magnaflux an aluminium head. theyre not really all that magnetic.. being a key component in the magna-fluxing process;)

you can pressure test it or just do a visual inspection. if its cracked you will see it.

most repeat HG failures are from people that use scrotch bright pads on air tools to clean the gasket surface of either head or block. this gives the surface the texture of a giant golfball, even though it looks flat it aint.

and lastly if you overheated the crap out of it you need to check the deck of the head and block for straightness, severe overheating could easily warp either.
