Curious. I've asked this question before, but got no answer. If I were to get A y8 head and swap it from my y7, would I necessarily need anything else? I know its suggested to get the tranny and everything else, but do I NEED it? Would I be able to run my engine with just the y8 head attached.

get the y8 intake manifold and header.

Also youll need a EX wiring harness and y8 ECU

a new head gasket, vtec harness/ecu or chip urs, timing belt

I understand that the I/M and header are good ideas, but are they necessary? I just wanna know if my car will run with the y8 head until I scrounge up enough money for the I/M, Header, and TB.

I know I need the ecu and conversion harness, forgot to mention that sorry. Will I need any extra wiring?

I dont WANT to, but I want to run the y8 head until I can get my hands on the y8 mani.

You guys said EX wiring harness? I've never read that anywhere before. Is that the same thing as the conversion harness? Cause I know i need the p28 ECU and conversion harness if I want to run the vtec.
