Ok so my SI keeps running hot, if I run the AC, or let it idle for to long the car starts to overheat. Has a new water pump, thermostat, and fresh coolant. For some reason the Fan will not kick on at all. But if I run power directly to the fan from the battery it will come on... :ballin: I would appreciate any help I can get. Anyone know of a way I can wire the fan to just come on when I turn the car on?

there is a Fan temp switch that might be bad, so its not telling the fan to turn on, or a problem with wiring?

THe fan temp switch may be bad as mentioned, or more likely so, the relay could have failed. Check the relay, fan switch and applicable wiring for continuity. :)

where is the fan temp switch? Is it the one coming right off the thermostat housing?

yes.
unplug the plug from the fan temp switch.
make a jumper wire in a small U shape.
place the jumper wire in the plug you just unplugged from the fan temp swich.
turn they key over like you are going to start the car but dont start it.
the fan should come on.
that will tell you if your temp switch is bad or not.

OK so it works with the jumper wire in, and I just noticed that the plug is missing the tab that clips onto the temperature switch and my temperature switch plastic is broken also... anyone have a wiring harness laying around?

you can just wire it up to a switch if you dont want to go through the trouble of trying to find a new harness.....just make sure you get a switch that matches up with the amperage that your fan is pulling

It was the fan temperature sensor I replaced it and now runs fine.
