best thing to do is take it apart and look at everything . theres no negatives since you already blew it

bypass valves, $30 can save you money in case this shit happens. sorry to hear, i have a y8 BLOCK with no internals, needs to be honed and reassembled with new ish.

It really doesnt matter if you have a bypass valve or not if you are going faster than like 25mph you are going to suck in water??

jc if it got that much water to blow the engine it was most likely "submerged"
even just a big puddle could ahve done it
there was several inch deep water all over yesterday
therefore i didnt even start up my car with my CAI

aftermarket intakes should not be used on daily drivers!!!! K&N filter replacement FTW!

same thing almost happen to me this morning.
a water main broke on hunt highway, and water was everywhere.
as soon as i turned on hunt, i hit a puddle of water. then the car started stuttering and boggin for a short minute. then it was fine.
i think i got really lucky.

My 95 neon took in water like 3 times and it still ran. I sputtered for like 30 mins but after that it ran fine.

Damn man that sucks...
My friend's 300zx Turbo sucked up water and his motor just locked up and he had to push it like 2miles in the rain. He had to rip the motor and pour the water out of it lol.

if a rod came out then most likely the piston bent at least one of your valves, probably would be cheaper and less of a hassle to just find someone on here thats trying to get rid of a d-series, unless you had a swap then that really sucks haha
