I just lost my throwout bearing in my transmission today. :pissed:
I was hoping to get some suggestions and info on what would be a good Clutch and Flywheel combination for my car.
My setup is a N/A B18A with just bolt-ons and LS tranny in a CRX. I'm looking to keep my motor relatively stock. The most extreme I would go with it is a LS Vtec conversion and possibly a B16 tranny. My intentions for driving the car are minor street use, with road racing and autocross being the main focus.
So after divulging this information about my drive train and its future possibilities, what would you guys think would be a really good clutch and flywheel combination for me?
Thanks in advance for all the help!

correct.

for the application you want to run this is your best bet

oem honda itr clutch & pressure plate > exedy whatever the hell stage it is

oem honda itr flywheel = 13lbs which is great for street use

plus you are using all oem honda parts which is

for the clutch and pressure plate check the acura dealership
you can find decent used itr flywheels for $100 just get one of those and get it resurfaced

clutch specialties builds decent clutches for the money. we used to order the one step heavier pressure plate with a 6 puck disc. it was 99 bucks, everyone loved it. i dont like pucks, but it makes it grabby when you want it to be and everyone is all about chirpin gears.

why our you going to waist youre time with stock clutches itr and exedy stage 1 is still stock clutch . it will hold for basic parts. buy or wait reduce youre flywheel then buy a stage 5 clutch disc for 150 dollars from act .use a stock or upgraded pressure plate . ive been running a stage 5 clutch a stage 2 pressure plate a fidanza 8lb flywheel on my daily driven for a year and a half no problems .

+1 for a light flywheel

When I used to daily drive my Integra I didn't think it was much harder to drive with my 8 lb flywheel vs my 18 lb stock. It was actually much easier to rev match and honestly after 1-2 days I thought it was just as easy to take off from a dead stop as it was with the stock unit.

Additionally the focus is track use, not street use according to his original post.

I've had good luck with ACT pressure plates and their street/strip disc. For your application a stock ITR would be more than enough as well. I have a 6 puck now and I'm not a fan of it but it holds really well and the ONLY time I'm not tracking with it is when I drive the car from my garage onto the trailer so I just deal with it. Someday I'll spend the bux on a Tilton or similar multi disc superlight setup, mmmmmm...

Stage three center force. Dual friction.

Like the guy said the flyheel isn't gonna make a huge difference in daily drive and neither s this dual friction clutch. This clutch and a lighter flywheel would be the way i'd go.

cool. bought a 8 or 9 pound flywheel off of Tage. my clutch looks in pretty good shape. I can still read a little bit of the factory writing on it. Plus I'm not really upgrading in power so I think it might be alright.
