View Full Version : to stiff of mounts ?

is it possible to get to stiff of a mount where your car shacks ? i just but a hasport mount with a stiffer rubber and now my car shacks but when i looked under the motor my headers are now hitting my oil pan idk if its the mount or headers

nope, the mounts are stiff compared to stock mounts that have softer inserts the mounts absorb all the rocking of the motor (loose power) with the hasports, the motor is held so stiff the car shakes with the motor. this is why u don't notcie it with stock mounts, it's get annoying.

I'm not sure how a car shacks....but what I can tell you is that
your header touching your oil pan could definitely cause some vibration.
I used to have a solid urethane driver side upper mount on my civic and it conducted a lot of vibration.
I sold it and put a stock one with the energy suspension inserts and it was a better setup for daily driving. Still stiffer than stock but way more comfortable than the full solid urethane mount.

ya thats what my set up is the full solid urethane mount . i ment vibration lol
