I threw a rod just driving 40mph in sohc zc. A couple days before this it would have a rough idle first starting the car after going to a gas station or store, and I would rev the engine up a bit and it would then run fine. The rod broke in half closer to the piston pin. Then I may have hydrolocked my motor because it was raining the night I blew the rod through both sides of the block. But I never hit a deep puddle. Anyways can I use sohc eagle rods in this zc engine, or what. And what would happen if it ever hydrolocked again would it break.

I was wondering when I'd be doing this with the motor in the car I could just reuse or get new rod bearings, whateabout the crank needing to be machined? I need advice. And might as well replace the rings.....and of course the head gasket. What kind of rod bearing would I get?

how are you going to fix a motor with holes in it?

if you hydroloc a motor something will break. water DOES NOT compress. something has to give, and its usually the rod.
