** D16y8 vs D16z6**

I have a question about D16 cams..... Are D16z6 Cams and D16y8 Cams the same? Or in what im saying a aftermarket D series cam will work in either of the heads?

Yes and no.

Yes, either one will work in the other BUT a Z6 cam in a Y8 head/Y8 cam in a Z6 head will be off by 4.5* of timing. They are keyed differently at the cam gear so actual timing is different. Therefore, to run one in the other, you need to use the others cam gear.

I have an AEM Adjustable Cam Gear im gonna use but didnt know what the difference was between a z6 cam and y8 cam... I got both heads and a ZEX Cam and Webcam but wanna use the y8 head.... Thanks for the link tho it helped me out
