well i reached a stoping point. its about to get dark and i got no lights where im at. but from what i can tell the valve spring retainer broke and the piston ate the valve. so this week i'll borrow a 12 point socket from one of my tech and take the head all the way off. it was pretty easy getting the cams and rockers out.

a3's are trash IMHO. mine cracked a retainer and dropped a valve while i was beta testing the hondata flash a few years ago.The cylinder walls were also FUBAR due to some serious sideloading.k24 time????

Mine has been very good to me till now. Maybe you had bad luck a3's are not the greatest to mod by far but they are reliable. But if your always driving the shit out of it any motor is gonna take shit on you.

K is a good motor, just has some weak area's. a3's are kinda common for haveing valvetrain problems, i am learning. i never really beat this thing that bad. but it will make me re-do the car faster and better .

never had ANY issues with ANY car i have owned like i did with my EP3. missfires,bad mileage,and then it just let loose.It was driven hard,but shouldnt have popped at 40k. GL with the car,k24 longblocks are cheap.,and a HELL of a lot more fun than an a3

sorry i haven't been on a awhile. had no internet and im working 7 days a week now. I love the k20a man, think halls balls. way faster than the a3 block, but i damaged the head some what, so i decided to pretty much rebuilt the whole thing with better parts. i might go forged, but depends how much i make for that lol. But its out of the car now, waiting for my next payday to get started on it. should have it done but mid-fall with a few extras as well ;-)

ya, i need all the parts i can, its hard finding k20a parts that are better than stock lol PM with parts you have and prices and i would be glad to buy them from you :-)
