Ok here is the problem, my dad has an 89 accord. when we go to start the car all it does is cranks, but every once in a while it will stumble like it is firing when it isnt supposed too. i have checked the coil, plugs, and plug wires. I have a lot of mechanical experience and half of it is with hondas (b-series mostly), so basically i need some help with a coulple of things. one is there any way of checking to see if the tdc/cyl sensor in the distributor is any good, if there is can you tell me how to do it? and two does any one have any idea of what it could be if it isnt what i stated above? any help is greatly appreciated.

My dizzy went out on my h23 twice in two years. the car would try to crank over but sounded like it didnt have enough power.

The coil was dirty and I cleaned it and it still didnt work so I assumed that the Dizzy wasn't functioning. If you have spark coming for the plugs then it is your dizzy not distributing the power.
