Need help

i just got a 89 si crx and the person i got it from spray painted the car red with spray cans and there was alot of o. peel and flat spots all over the car

so me and my boys sanded the car down with 800 grit. the car is really smooth now and i was woundering what to do next?

also im trying to paint my car a semi gloss black

i'd actually go back and hit it with 600, and prime it with a nice mild buildable primer. Then sand that with 800, clean thoroughly, and lay down your base/clear.

The reason i say go back with 600 is 800 is fairly smooth and you'll have better adhesion with the 600 and if you use a mild buildable primer you can make the car like GLASS by sanding the primer smooth :)
