Hey guys, need a little help, one of our customers is looking for a hard top for his 01 s2000 y52p yellow. I called Honda and placed the order for a brand new one from Japan, I got a call back this morning, discontinued:ballin: So I started to look for other options, the only one I found from our wholesale suppliers is the Mugen fiberglass, or carbon fiber hard top. Just wondering if anyone out there knows of another available or if anyone is selling one. I don't want to turn our customer down, I want to make this happen for him, any input would be great. Thanks a bunch....

did you try honda-tech or s2ki? azht is probably the worst place to look for parts of this caliber.

And I noticed several dealerships saying they are discontinued which I find odd considering the CR has a hardtop :/

Dobbs Honda here in Tucson says they no longer make them, however, Chapman can still order them....

Call around some more

the difference betwwen the cr and the regular hardtop is that it's all aluminum, lighter, more $. i'm pretty sure it's interchangable.

You have to have full vin# and all owner info to order a hard top from Honda, I went through the whole process, there is a service bulletin for the Honda parts dept. for special ordering instructions. The cost was 2900.00 for a painted to match hard top from Honda, But again was told it was a discontinued part #. I found serveral other fiberglass hard tops for 2,000 plus shipping, but I would still have to have it painted to match, so all said and done it will come out to 2800. And the fiberglass hard top does not look as nice as the factory hard top, Some times Honda really pisses me off with there discontinued crap...:smirk:

I know someone selling a SS OEM hardtop... But they want 2K, so yeah, you'd still have to have it painted :-/ And I'm not willing to part with mine for any amount of money :D

Thanks, but I found one shipped for 2k, I can get it painted for $400, still under the 2900 dollars for the OEM one, not too bad..

We eneded up ordering the fiberglass one, and it was delivered cracked, so we sent it back, they sent us another one and wow it was cracked also. The total time spent tying to get this hard top was 2 months, and we ended up giving the customer his money back, cause the place we ordered it from just couldn't seem to package it correctly.

I agree, I wasn't about to put that peice on a customer car, so we refunded all of his money. Honda has discontinued the hard top from Japan, I will keep looking though..
