how to pull codes from obd1

Hi, I just did a swap on my ek hatch. obviously we had to convert it from obd2a to obd1. i have the check engine light on, does anyone know how to pull the diagnostic codes? Please Help!

at the pass floor board, up near the blower motor, there will be either one or two plugs in a green rubber boot looking thing..... pull the 2pin conector out, (blue plug) and jump it with a paper clip or whatever.
