This post left me bewildered. Are you implying that you'd like to kick MY ass or that you want to kick ass but use "rufus" as an adjective describing the level of ass kickingness?

No thanks rufus. I'd help anybody work on their stuff here free of charge if I know how to do something. I don't see why it's all about money. I would just be happy doing something with a group and chillin maybe a few pictures. I'll be doing my head lights and probably springs with a friend. If you want to make money off people why not open your own shop on weekends?

Your post is a direct reflection on age and life's responsibilities, that's all. As you get older you'll realize that life has enough for you to do and working on other people's projects cuts into your time. It's not about not enjoying what you do, but who here really enjoys relacing the same style struts 20 times? I have, and doing the labor on someones car doesn't make me better friend. Besides, you'll also find that you'll spend hours on someone elses project where people won't come help you when you need it.

For my close friends, free is an option, but the reality is that it's never free. A day will come when I need help, and that person will drop whatever they're doing to help. Right now, I have a buddies truck while we put my turbo on. He just pulled out a BOV that I could use for my car that he wasn't using. When he needs help, I'll do anything I can to help. You won't get that from random/new people on a car forum when you need it.

I see no issue with helping people out on this forum and nothing obligates them to come to me. I'm certainly not advertising for business. You'll understand when you get here. Until then, my knowledge is worth something.

I have the ability to swap the head but I'd much rather you go to a preffered vendor like TTM. I have no desire to work on a project that ends up taking a turn for the worse (if the new head is bad, if your timing belt needs replaced, etc). That, to me, is not worth a few hundred dollars.

I never said that your time isn't valuable at all. I know you know a lot about 7th gens and i'm not really expecting you to drop what your doing and help all of us with whatever projects. What was suggested was a group event so we can all get together do some quick mods for our cars, chill out take some pictures and who knows if we were lucky maybe get a ride in. I'm not saying wow your an asshole for charging or anything it's great that you know these things, but to something like this I just don't see saying ill charge you or oh i need to pay for a new front lip. If someone was expecting you to do the job for money they could easily take it to a shop is all i'm saying. If someone needs a hand I totally don't mind helping them. If they want me to do everything yea I can see charging.

I'll make it super easy

1) Loosen lugnuts
2) Jack up front of car
3) Remove two large bolts behind brake disc holding strut to arm
4) Remove misc nuts (brake line, etc)
5) Remove cotter pin on strut arm, remove nut, hammer the arm to "shock" it and break it free (do NOT hammer the threads on the joint).
6) Remove strut bolts under the hood and slide strut out
7) Use an impact to remove bolt holding springs on. I just set it on the ground and spin it off. When it releases the spring will make it move a foor or so. You'll be fine.
8) Lowering springs don't require a spring compressor. Push down on the top mount over the spring and you will be able to thread the nut.
9) Retighten, reinstall

The back is the same, just with less bolts.
