white smoke is from oil. how much smoke is blowing? you might have blown rings or valve seals

the head or the deck is likely warped, white smoke is always coolant...

I cracked it so bad that when I poped the hood the radiator top tank was gone and was getting blow by thru the radiator!!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

I just finish my build and it was smoking real bad. my return line from the turbo was too small, the oil was backing up and spilling into the down pipe causing it to smoke real bad. I did a compression test and a leak down test and everything was normal. I then removed my down pipe and it was saturated with oil. I then removed the turbo and fired up the car and ran it about 30 minutes no smoke. Problem solved my return line was too small.:clapper:

The smoke was not blue like you would think, because the oil was not being burnt it was cooking the oil which created a white type smoke. It was very confusing at first.

boosted, you got this figured out?

white is oil.

can be rings, can be head gasket.

if you have separate water temp gauge, it's easy to see because 4th gear pull on highway will spike water temp, but will come right down when you coast. will also cause overflow to blow its top.

rings or valveguides, or maybe bent valve, will just smoke and smoke. a leakdown test will help determine this.

white smoke is from burning coolant. has your oil in the oil pan change color?

okay, so we have a bunch of people saying white smoke is oil and a bunch saying white is coolant. which is it? lol. I believe white is coolant. What does the smoke smell like? that usually helps figure the problem out.

back to the original complaint. if your having smoke come out of the exhaust and BREATHER, that would be excessive blow by caused by piston or ring failure.

just turn up the boost alittle
