dude melting pot is way to overrated.... this is what happens

people ask somewhere good to go
everyone has heard the metling pot
everyone ONLY goes to melting pot
telling you from experience melting pot is good but its like someone asking you what kind of jdm car to buy from japan...of course everyone on here is going to say ooooo a type r..... see what im saying? cuz they have heard and only had that...
IMO i would prefer to eat a great steak oscar style at

the salt cellar is always pretty good stuff
there are many great places food wise in AZ

Donovan's is great, so is Roaring Fork, Cantina Laredo, The Ocean Club ($$$$).

Can't beat Golfland. If you're moderately sneaky you can play all 3 courses for the price of one.

Impromptu weekend in Mexico could be fun. Check out Craigslist for cheap condo rates direct from the owners.

World Wildlife Zoo or the Zoo-Safari thing near Camp Verde could be fun. Phoenix Zoo is shit, though.

Tempe Improv if there's a good act in town (probably nothing until Thurs or Fri though).

Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson has a great zoo.

Pretty much all the fun stuff to do in Arizona is not in Phoenix.

honestly though, theres this restaurant hidden in PV called Lon's at the Hermosa Inn, very nice romantic atmosphere, prices around horrible, youll probably spend 120 with app,main, dessert and a drink for the 2 of you, you may need reservations though

Haha nice...yeah, like cu@9k said, Maggiano's is a pretty good place for that, Scottsdale Rd. & Bell. I used to eat there for cheap as fuck 'cuz my friend's sister used to work there. Good food, good atmosphere, I'd recommend it.
