Krazyblurtz threw this idea out in another thread in the lounge and so I figured I'd start it. Basically just a thread to post pictures of when you first started working out to where you are now. You can post monthly progress pics, whatever. This isn't just for people trying to get big, it can also be for people trying to lose weight as well. If you want to leave a brief description of your goals, supplements, diet, etc. feel free to.

Lets try and keep this thread clean and motivational.

I'll post some pics later when I get to my computer.

2003 - 225 pounds - Never really had a workout before, just tons of sports when was an athletic kid

2004 - 175 pounds - Decided food wasnt worth being fat.... Dramatic fast weight loss due to using protein shakes as meal replacements (not healthy) and going to the gym every two days at 3 am since I was emberrassed to be there. 1 hour random weight lifting and 30 minutes treadmill

2007 - 190 pounds - Been going to the gym for little over a year at five days a week, then lost my job and didnt go for 3 months and lost ALOT of progress.

2008 current - 205 pounds - 4 months recovering what I lost, finally had some jobs so I can afford tons of protein.
I would be alot bigger or alot ripped if I would just make up my mind whether I want to be huge, or have a ripped 8 pack...so many downsides to both, but when you are unemployeed You dont have much choice since you are what you eat.

Diet consists of eating anything and everything as much as possible. Mainly chicken, eggs, yogurt, crackers etc. but I've been slacking lately. Supplement wise I take 5g of Hi Healths 100% creatine monohydrate mixed with a Naked juice and cheap protein. After my container of creatine is up I want to try out No-xplode for a month and see what it does for me.

im 5'11. at 138 lbs. im workin out here at home, i used to go to the gym every morning but then i got lazy. -_-. Keep it up

i have used bsn No-Xplode and you get a bad ass pump that last for about 3-4 hrs but the bad thing for me is my stomach is week for any nitric oxide supplement with in 15mins i have to go straight to the bath room for a #2 yea i know gross but it is a nice supplement

i took NO xplode back 3 years ago. pretty much you just keep a constant pump from it. at the gym it felt like my muscles were gonna xplode out of my skin and at home my muscles had a contsant pump like i just got done workin out even though i wasnt at the gym for hours.

Has anyone tried Hydroxycut?? just wondering on any results... I will be posting pics in a month with my work out, i just started hitting the gym this week then next week im starting the Hydroxycut...
as of now im 6'' 225 with minor beer belly.... Anybody else work out at world gym?? or chambo's wellness center now

chambos wellness center..? lol most world gyms are coyotes athletic centers, The coyotes already owned them, but just wanted to change the name...along with replacing some machines.

Fat burners......is a bs fad. Just speeds up your heart rate by caffeine and a blend of their own shit.
More of placebo with caffeine, if you think its a great product you will do what you can to maximize its effects... It really comes down to just dieting and work good old tried and true work outs.

And never pay attention to their before and after pics...its fucking bs too.
I lost 30 pounds a month before and gained 33 pounds a month just caffeine and protein FTW. NOT HEALTY... if you loose more than around 2.5lbs of fat a week you have to be loosing muscle with it too

BTW people I dunno what deals you get at GNC/hi-health but they are overpriced...along with every vitamin shop.. But at least the vitamin/muscle shops will match prices..
I see no-explode for 50-75 bucks around... Or I can just go to nutrishop and get it for $34 or go to max muscle and have them match price. Shop around, bodybuilding industry makes tons of people who dont know they jack up prices in the summer...and protein is now almost double what it was 2 years ago...since everyone keeps buying it

I wish I could gain weight like that! I used to eat a 1lb bag of twizzlers and 2 liters of Mountain Dew every night, never got any exercise and didn't gain a pound :(. The whole bulking thing never worked for me no matter how much I ate either. I just started going to the gym in mid-late november 07 and basically lived there. I went every week day for up to 4 hours a day up until about 2 months ago. Now I try and go 4 nights a week and actually have a decent routine down. I always look back at that first picture and shake my head, I never realized how fuckin anorexic I looked

I thought you looked familiar too though. I went to O'Connor, never played sports or anything either so I dunno.

I wish I could just be a bodybuilder though...go in twice a day...one for abs and cardio other for lifting, damn society :(

I did a lot of reading on BBforums and they said when you first start going it's ok to spend ridiculous amounts of time at the gym, but after a while you need to slow down because you'll overwork your muscles and blah blah. You're pretty big tho dude, I'd be happy to be your size.

I go to the 24hour LA Fitness off 55th and Bell. I usually don't go in until 12-2am, I hate when people stand over you waiting to use the machine.

d4 thermal shock(weight loss pill),arnge krush and after glow. I eat a TON of chicken and no more late night mcdonald or jack in the box hamburgers for me. only eat like shit once a week.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone taken SuperPump 250? If so how does it compare to No-Xplode? It seems those are the 2 main NO products people prefer.

Mikey, superpump gets some good ratings and its a proven thing but literally read all the reviews you can cause MOST people say SuperDUMP will leave you on the toilet almost half the time at the gym. Alot of peoples stomach cant handle "anal-explode" but those are very few compared to the mass people saying superdump is intolerable to them.

I was gonna go with NO-Xplode just because everyone swears by it, but after talking to the guy that works there and finding out that it has at least 3x the normal amount of caffeine per scoop on top of their law suit saying it contains mono I decided against it. My second choice was SuperDump until I found out that it has mono as well, so I went with Fuzion. I tried it out tonight and noticed a slight difference in my endurance and had a better/longer lasting pump. I'm anxious for the end of next week to come so I can really compare this vs. just the mono I was on.

So anyways.... back to the topic.... I took NO Shotgun tonight and was severely dissapointed... now before you go off on me and say it takes more than one time, you need to realize ive been taking superpump250 for the last month and have seen and felt tremendous results starting on day one. just my .02. this is not a product i will back up nor recommend.

shit i dont give a fuck, ill post another pic a week later. now at 21.1% body fat. down from 22.8% 2 1/2 weeks ago. and up 3 pounds. did shoulders tonight. shoulder pressed 290 5 times( my new all time high). gonna start stackin NO xplode my arnge krush and after glow next week.

I'm taking Cell tech and 100% whey...both Muscle tech brands. i have been for about1yr. now. i'm up about 15 lbs from where i was before in weight. i'm not a big person about 5'8...started at about 125-130. and am now up to 145 150. (trainers told me i walk around comfortable at 140 no problem). i have a hard time gaining weight due to a very quick metabolism (even at my age, 32). i started taking this when i was training for MMA. as i was to small for the weight class i wanted to be in. i have since stopped training due to schedule conflicts. i never realy worked out a day in my life untill the military and not worked out since discharge in 97. it helped out alot but i burn thru it to quickly. i think if i were to actually hit the gym with someone that could shw me what to do thngs might go differently. mainly sticking to core excersises now, push ups situps and running (typical military) to keep me busy.

I always go to the gym at like 2am because I hate having people stand over my shoulder and constantly being asked "how many more sets do you have?"

i dnt have ne b4 pic but i was into some bad crap after two friends if mine died. i went from 187 all muscle to 147. im 6'2" by the way. started hitting the gym again and so far im back to 175 in three months

Creatine monohydrate, it's just another form of creatine

There is nothing bad about it, but only a small portion of what you take actually gets absorbed. Some people don't even respond to monohydrate.

monohydrate is rated bad because of 1/4 or so generally makes it into your system. For body builders cutting down for a show doesnt want this, as it bloats your muscles with water weight which can account for 5-10 extra pounds while your using it that month.

Most others contain creatine-ethyl esther (sp?) Which is better but, but if you got money then you might as well go for the few products that have cre-alkiline. Apparently majority of it gets absorbed. Anyways im working with a esthyl esther right now, and the past week I been doing the biggest lifts of my life... so stoked! its bulking time, just what my genetics is good at.

The LA Fitness at 7th St. & Greenway...It closes at 12 so that's why it gets empty around 10:45. The best time to go at THIS gym IMO is at 11 in the morning or 11 at night busy-wise. As far as the "clientele" of the gyms, I'm sure it's just as douche-ey as the one on 55th but as you probably know, North Glendale IS prime SRH Bro/douchebag territory lol.

Anywho, little 2 week update on my results with Fuzion. After switching from pure monohydrate to Fuzion (NO+kre-alkalyn) my bench has went up dramatically. I was struggling to put up 185 on the smith machine, which is more like 165 and my free weight bench was at something stupid like 145. Last night after finishing all my bench sets, I decided to try 205 and put it up 3 times(free weight). Gonna see what I can do next week when I'm not worn out. So far I'm in love with this stuff.

I've been working out 5 years off and on and have been able to increase my muscle index and reduce my body fat % and roughly maintain the same wieght. Im 6' at 178 with 6 % body fat. My diet is 4 eggs in the morning minimum with whatever. Whatever for lunch and any sort of meat for dinner. I drink 4 - 5 protein shakes a day with creatine and glutimine in the morning and b4 I workout and n02 three pills three times a day and a no xplode b4 I workout. And that shit does give you energy. why do you take glutamine? I know it's for the soreness, but if you are taking in 4-5 protein shakes those should have enough glutamine in them to give you what you need. Only reason I say that is if you take excess glutamine it drastically reduces the effects of what Nitric oxide does. in other words NO does not work well with high level of glutamine.

But Glutimine does more then help with soreness it helps your boddy recover quicker making it possible to workout twice a day or do more workouts for that muscle so your body can handle it? I had the sme question and went to a trainer and that's the answer I got and it made all the sense in the world.

By the way, glutamine is one of many amino acids. You only need 1-5g of glutamine a day depending on your size and a lot of protein powders already come with glutamine mixed in. It is good to take but like bmxican said, with as many protein shakes as you are taking a day, you probably don't need to take glutamine on top of it all. Plus, are you really going to be hitting the gym/over working muscles that much? Don't listen to trainers, do research for yourself and make judgments based off of that.

As for NO-Xplode giving you energy, of course it will. It has almost 3x the amount of caffeine as normal products.

Don't remember saying exactly how much glutimine I was taking a day, but apparently I'm taking too much. With the results I've got from the routine I posted im more then satisfied. Creaitine does help restore atp which is one of the things I love about it. I mean the energy you get from it is great. And more is not always better. No2 is just starting to get popular and I suppose I'm more old school when it comes to supplements, I mean nobody to this day knows the long term affects of creatine and if you don't drink enough water while you're takin that stuff it can fuck up your kidneys I know from experience. I know it all has it's benifits but they all have they're down sides too.

I'll post some pics up in 2 weeks or so... I used to lift in high school all the time, but after I got out I just got drunk everyday hahaha.

This past november I was up to 165lbs with a nice lil gut...So finally I started jogging every morning just 1 mile, and took fast food and soda out of my diet. In February of this year I was down to 135, I haven't weighed that little since my sophmore year in High School.

Then I started really lifting back in the gym again. Right now I weigh 155 and am at 10.5% body fat. I am working on getting to about 170 and 5.5-7.5% body fat.

I'm 5'6" BTW. I was pretty weak when I first got back into it, but have gained my strength back pretty quick. Oh and I run 3 miles minimum monday-friday now. My 1.5 mile time is down to 9min 50sec. I don't really want to get huge just put on a little more size. I am more focused on running, simming, and calisthenics. But 5'6" @170 with 6% body fat won't be slouching either.

Oh and about all the supplements. You don't have to take no xplod or creatine or w/e to get big. Just have a healthy diet, positive mindset and bust your ass in the gym. Seriously. Although I do take creatine mono and 1 protein shake daily (because I try to eat about 230grams of protein per day weight x 1.5), as well as glutamine. Glutamine for me isn't a substance, more like a vitamin (poor analogy i know), but when I take it I can really tell my muscles recover quicker and I am not as sore. The creatine I got for free and just tried it out, its a pain in the ass trying to remember to drink like 2 gallons of water everyday though, Its like all I do is drink it sucks. Oh well, I'm almost out.

eh....down to 210. was around 240 in november of last year. not a huge weight decrease but i've been gaining muscle too. i've only been cutting weight tho for the last couple weeks and its really starting to kick in. hoping to be around 190 by the end of the summer.

same problem i had/still kinda have i was benching all most 300 had my wrist in a cast for 3 months and wasnt able to lift just running and just now starting back lifting, i went from repping 100 pound db sets to stuggleing to do 3 sets with 70's :( but the good thing is i went from over 250 to 180 1/2 (as of last friday)

Night after 4th of July

They had to cut me open another inch or so during surgery to get all the glass out

I never got a cast thankfully so I have full movement of my hand and use of my fingers now. It still hurts to twist my arm as if I was going to do a preacher curl or put a lot of pressure on my wrist.

I'm going to attempt the gym starting Monday

The last few years i've had a problem controlling my eating, I'm 6'0, used to be 180 or so until about 5 years ago when I gained alot of fat, my bro did some research and bought me some Xenadrine, that, and cutting my eating way way down, doing 5.5 miles of running every other day and doing just pushups, lunges and situps I dropped from 265 to 212. Then i started eating crap again and got on my bad track, I'm at 251 right now :(

I am about 6'2" over a month ago i was 236 i weighed myself today i was 225....i have always been a strong runner and literally yesterday i am finally giving in to hitting weights. i really just wantg to lean out my body instead of making my neck dissapear. I am a pretty athletic guy since all i do is play ball like all the time but i dont lift weight worth shit my upper body is like super weak compared to high school where i was lifting way more.

I wish i could have taken a earlier before pic..? :-/

But i wanna try a supplement to help support weight loss and muscle...

Ive been doing Lee Priest's workout routine for the past 3 weeks and I have to say that shit is serious. If anyone is interested, check out his site www.leepriestdriven.com and go to the Training/Nutrition tab. I used to do ronnie coleman's workout for a while too but this one seems to be working better for me.

I see no-explode for 50-75 bucks around... Or I can just go to nutrishop and get it for $34 or go to max muscle and have them match price. Just found this recipe on BBF. From the comments these people left on the forum, it sounds pretty fucking good. I'm making mine right now, I'll let you all know how they are :thumbsup:



Protein bar that is!

i call it the strongman bar, cause its not for those looking for a lean meal. its loaded with cals and taste good. good for a meal on the go.

takes 5 mins to make and makes 2 meals...or 1

4 protein scoops oatmeal
2 scoops whey
5 tbs peanut butter
cinnamon (sp)
chocolate chips
1 tbs honey
2 tbs sugar

1. grind oats to powder in blender or coffee grinder.

2. blend in whey and cinnamon and sugar

3. microwave Pb and honey till its very hot.

4. add blended powder to pb+honey.

5. mix good. as water as needed. small amounts. till its very thick, stays together, but not runny.

5. mold 2 bars out of it on tin foil

6. sprinkle chocolate chips onto bar, push them down into it with a spoon so they stay.

7. stick in fridge so it sets and cools

total cals- 670
protein- 50g
carbs- 70g
fat- 20g
(per bar) (about)

You can't target one section of body fat. Hit your whole body- high reps, lower weight. If you have a good FULL body workout(obviously broken up throughout the week) the abs will come on their own. I can count on all my hands and toes how many times I've worked my abs in the past year, but abs aren't all that important to me.

But yea, find the article! I was thinking about that when I typed it up. It didn't make sense you could hit abs with high reps, low weight and get a ripped six pack but not be able to do that anywhere else. Abs are a muscle just like any other.

Eat eat eat eat eat!!

You can load up on McDonalds and shit if you want, but I prefer eating a lot of chicken, tuna, rice, oatmeal, eggs, etc. Try eating 1-1.5g of protein per pound you weigh.

Eat, sleep and workout

Do those 3 things and you will see results.

i have a curse of a very fast metabolism that pic was taken shortly after i graduated and during high school i was working out every day.(either running or lifting for track)and had a weight training class for like 45 minutes a day. then and now i was eating 4 to 5 meals a day pretty good sizes. im hoping just pure lifting and abs work will show me results :)

Dude I have the fastest metabolism in the world. I used to drink a 2 liter of mountain dew, 1 bag (1lb) bag of twizzlers and 2 or 3 bags of popcorn a night before bed. That was on top of Del Taco, Burger King etc. I ate bad dude and couldn't gain an ounce. I was at like 120 November of 07. Now I eat 5 meals a day, and just snack around in between. I'm at 163 now and I'm just barely reaching my 1 year mark.

Don't worry about abs though. They will come with time through other exercises. You can work them out if you want to, but it's not necessary. I've worked my abs out maybe 10 times in the past year. Be careful not to over train your muscles as well. Sleep is when the majority of muscle repair happens, so downtime isn't always bad. Lemme find a before pic and I'll post my most recent one.

To put it simply

Nitrix= Nitric Oxide
Cellmass=Creatine+amino acids
NO-Xplode= Creatine+amino acids+nitric oxide

Syntha 6 is verpriced protein, typical of all BSN products

Atro-phex is a supplement for fat burning, ideal when you want to cut. Unless you are 200lbs with a high bodyfat percent, you want to stay the fuck away from it and calorie it up.

BSN products are hyped up beyond belief. They had a lawsuit filed agains them claiming no xplode has no CE3, and only contained monohydrate yet people seem to overlook this extremely tiny(huge) deal. No xplode also contains 3x the amount of caffeine as regular supplements on the market like it. No xplode seems more like a confidence booster than anything else. I can't see what the last supp in your stack is, but I'm sure it's more junk you don't need ;).

Mikey is 100% righto, Yea I live on NO-xplode cause im a caffeine freak. I wont buy anything else from bsn as you can get the same from certain GOOD generic brands. Don't be so sure its them that they are working great when you dont know how much of the placebo effect is working.

"confidence booster" is a great term for this stuff. All supplements and even powder protein is overrated, granted it is highly required but so much gets pissed out, food with biggest protein is optimal.

Just look at the pro body builders diets pretty much 2-4 pounds of redmeat and fish to put on mass since you are what you eat.

Enough rambling, They told the whole group of subjects they are giving them steriods to test out, and even the half that took the placebo sugar pills gained insanely cause they went crazy in the gym like they were on roids and ate big

No nitrix is a volumizer, helps your veins to expand and pump more blood to the muscles. If your just looking for the cut look, atro-phex is what you want. It helps subcutanious fat, atrophex and cardio should help you out. Maybe some noxplode just to get that pump. Ive heard so many people say that, they just want the ripped look. After you get that look though, then your not happy, you'll start to want to get bigger.

someone brought that up to me today and did some research what do u guys think of celltech creatine and truemass weight gainer for 2 month to put on some weight(i wanna be around 180 to 190ibs) then switch over to something that will work on the ripped look?

You're not gonna gain "real" weight in 2 months, it'll just be water weight from creatine, then the atrophex will just lose it for you. Dont get me wrong it all helps, it just takes a little longer than that to put on suffecient lean muscle mass.

You'll end up right back where you are. In order to get an athletic look(skinny and toned), you have to have muscle to begin with so you have some shape to you. Anyone with a low BF% will have muscle definition. The anorexic kiddies on myspace showing off their "wash board" abs are a prime example of this. You have a nice base to start off with, but you are far from big enough to consider "cutting". I use that loosely because you don't have much fat to lose anyways.

You lose water weight as soon as you stop taking creatine. Some people don't react to monohydrate(one form of creatine in no-xplode), and so they don't gain water weight. If you were to react, the majority of the immediate weight you gain in the first couple weeks will be mostly water. As soon as you stop taking the creatine, you will lose it all. If you are 165 right now, I'd at least try to bulk up to 200. If your bulk is decently clean, you'll probably lose around 10lbs after you cut and end up at 190ish. Regardless, after cutting you should have some shape to yourself and it will look much much better.

By doing what you are talking about, you are better off buying pure monohydrate for $10 from Hi-Health and using that.
