Hey everyone just to sum things up I just moved here last week from oklahoma city now in Avondale. I left to get away from those nights of sleepin in your car with a strap...but searching around the forums seems like you guys aren't havin any better luck with these thefts. Noticed that 99th to like 59th and McDowell seem to be a really bad place to be which seems kinda close to me and I'm a lil worried. Was hoping some of you guys that know the city well could give a new guy some hints of where not to be seen and where not to park my car.

1. 99th and mcdowell(especially the harkins theatre)
2. Cars left outside around 99th and mcdowell
3. 75th and Mcdowell cars stolen there daily and armed robberies
4. AZ Mills mall in tempe(good place to lose your crx or da)

Just some advice. YOU DON'T LIVE IN AVONDALE. That's all I have to say. Don't let people on here know where your around or where you live. Above all keep your car in a safe place and consider installing a killswitch. Avondale is a high theft area and lots of chop shops. You should have noticed that already with insurance rates.

Wish i knew all that before i moved to this area...seems like a guy can't enjoy anything without worrying about his car outside. Either way i'm here now cant do much about it anymore cost me an arm and a leg just to get out here. So is there any mall and movie theater thats not a hot spot for theives???

Yeah i understand no place is safe but i'd rather not make the mistake of being naive about all this and act like things are all good in tha hood when they really aren't.

thanks fellas i appreciate all the help, i'm realizing paranoia comes with the territory of owning an import no matter where in the world you are. Things seem to be getting bad everywhere bak in ok before i left it was 8 stolen in a week seems all the same here...

Just be smart about it

Alarm+multiple hood pins+back up battery and siren and you should be fine. GPS is a big plus. If you have a garage, use it. I've posted this time and time again yet no one seems to read it. People spend thousands on their motor, wheels, etc., and claim they love their car more than anything else yet they cheap out on security.

My brother and his wife were trippin' when I showed up from Cali in my EF sedan...tellin' me that it's gonna get fucked with. I laughed...until I read this thread. :(

It's cool, I sleep really light and I got my 6" shank on the nightstand next to me, let someone try. LMAO.

6" shank aint gonna do shit when in this state you can carry a gunSure it will, you just have to know what you're doing. I'd be more afraid of a quiet guy with a big knife than any fuckhead with a gun.

I live in Glendale too, its not safe either, my house has had 2 cars stolen from us and i woke up one morning to find my last Honda halfway in the street with the ignition wires all fucked with and a mess. My dad put cameras on our house but that didn't seem to bother the thieves either.

Mikeys map basically has it covered

It seems as if most local car thieves gather at the ramiros on 43rd ave /bell, 99th ave /mcdowell, and 27th ave
/deervalley. I would recommend that everyone avoid those areas. Malls also are always targeted.

Seems like most of you are scared to have a car stolen?
I understand lots of time, blood, and money go into our cars but f*ck if someone really wants it they're going to take it regardless.
Just invest some good money into the security of the car and you should be good, also acquiring a gun would be a good idea too!

..oh and FUCK thieves! :offtopic2:

pretty much what mikey said too, but i would advise getting lowjack. all my cars have lj and i can sleep at night or even leave it in a parking lot without worrying about it getting stolen. my advice :)

Simple tip. Either do not own a Honda, or;
stay strapped up with a concealed permit everywhere you take your car,
get Lojack+GPS installed yourself or someone trustworthy,
Get an alarm with every single back up option available,
Get a mile+ transmitter with cell paging,
Kill switches & a set up that locks the power widows and door in on a thief (like a bait car)
and keep your car garaged at all possible times.
Or just sell your Honda and get a real sports car.
Low budget car scene in AZ = Low income class thieves!
