since they plug into your ecu when you get emissions...do they still do the sniffer? I am wanting to get a race header but will have to get emissions starting this upcoming year. any advice?

no sniffer.. they run the ecu plug and the comp tells them everything.

obd2 will have "readyness" codes that have to be set for a number of drive cycles.
so if you have a race header and can trick the o2 from comming on, your good to go.
Hopefully they dont check for a cat either....
If they do and fail you on the visual, just take some heat shields off an old cat, and tack weld them in place so it looks like you have one...

When i took my 7th gen they didnt even look at it.they just plugged it up and said ok your done...took like 5 mins...the quickest i've ever gone through for emissions

Ya they never looked on mine and I didn't even HAVE a cat and I passed. Pretty sure with Closed Loop on Kpro you won't need to worry about an o2 CEL.

Ya you wont have a problem with them checking or use the sniffer. I just went two weeks ago, went to the one on bell and grand. No one was there. I was the only car there. But i passed without the cat. I have a race header. You should be fine man.

bro it depends.. If they see that it may be necessary to do it then they will do it doesnt matter the year.. but normally they wouldnt do the sniffer just the ecu plug./..
