Im in the same boat as you. Im stripping these HX's. It took me like 5-6 Coats of stripper to take off the powdercoat. I'm trying the spray Aircraft stripper and that seems to be working pretty good.

Im still safe to primer and paint over the HX's after I take off the powder coat right?

EDIT: 2nd Coat of Stripper on the HX. I poured it on and its been sitting for a good 30-45 min. It took the powdercoat off like it was nothing.

Buy some aircraft stripper at a body shop supply (not the stuff at Ace) store and a cheap chip brush. Goop it on pretty thick. Cover the area you just gooped up with stripper with tin foil to hold the stripper chemical against the paint. Let it sit for about a day or so.

Before you put the stripper on, scuff the surface with sand paper to give it something to bite into.

Another thing that works is spray on gasket remover. I buy mine at NAPA and it strips paint very well too. Use the same tinfoil trick
