Ill be pickin uop some HID'S today. Gettin rid of the projectors and puttin the stock back on. Gettin from RMS. They say plug and play but is that correct. im not real educated with the electrical stuff on the car..dont wanna screw it up.

Also RMS said it would be a bluish tint depending on what watt i get i was lookin at the 8000 what you think.. and if you have any advise on the install that would be great 2 thanks.

yeah HIDs are simple to install, I had 6000k with a bluish tint to them and they were perfect cause they werent ricer blue!

i dont mind the "ricer' blue.. everything that i like is quated as ricer on this site lol. thanks tho

basiclly i wanna have the same blueish as my dads BMW or close at least..but still have good visibility

there is a big diff. when i drive at night i can see a whole lot better. in my opinion. blind in one eye so driving at night is hard on my good eye if if its to dark. this setup helps me not strain my eye.

ive heard of ppl with like yellow and like light pinkl hids gettin pulled over but i think its cuz of those colors. blue or white HIDs i havent heard of it

thats a good point!!! im not even sure now. i knw when hids first came out it was a real big deal wit the cops but with all this time now thats passed i guess they let it slide some times. i was right behind a cop one time and it was at night idk why i thought he was gonna get pissed cuz the lights wer bright. i guess it depends on the cop

but ive seen so many cars out with HIDs and no projector housing. if that was the case everyone would be getting ticketed. And it would be illegal to sell hids to cars that dnt have a projection housing, i mean that would be the smartest way to go through with that kinda law. idk that is a good question though. but ill keep mine on ne ways

I think it even says on the box's that it's for off road/show use. Ticket though if it's the same as the last ticket I got is just a fix it ticket. it cost like 3 bucks and you show the popo you put on a toggle switch or whatever.

HIDs are illegal nationwide in NON OEM HID housings

so in short...if your car didnt come with them from the factory...they are illegal

i feel ya on that, especially get ticketed over some thing so idiotic... laws are so wierd nowa days. my bro was telling me that cops can give you a ticket even if they cnt find some thing to give u one for. its called the stupid driver ticket. idk the finr but they can give you one. if they just dnt like you they will throw it in. ever notice when some ppl get pulled over for like two things they end up with like 15 diff citations

as long as they arent purple or yellow or pink you should be safe
i had hids for several months and had no problems. i even got pulled over twice at night and cops didnt mention them at all

yeah but if you get ticketed for the same thing twice its no longer a fix it ticket. I have had HIDs for almost 2 years now and never had problems though

yeah cuz my buddy bought a silverado slammed on bags and it had the pink or purple HIDs on it. they guy that sold it to his said he sold it cuz he kept getting tickets for the hids. kinda dumb why wouldnt you just hook up the stock ones if u wer getting cited so many times

stocks will give you better light output. I have those projectors in right now and with hids they arent that great. I am putting my stock back on today or tomorrow...once i get my radiator fabrication done

Cops arent morons they know if a car comes with them unless it is a brand new car. And those projectors in those aftermarket headlights are halogen projectors. there is a difference. If your car did not come with them it is illegal. Even retros with real projectors are illegal

but I been pulled over alot and alot of times for stupid shit I never got messed with over headlights.

How ever 2 of my friends rolled with yellow headlights and would get pulledover 10times a night and warn about them

and once I "redo" my car im gonna buy purple hids or pink and just keep stock headlights in theclubbox WHEN i do get stop for them ill tell them I just bought stockones heading home to switch them out, they most of time let you go

i have the 12k the purple pink what ever you want to call it in stock housing on my ej. had for about a year or more haven't gotten pulled over. and yes plug and play mean just that ive found kits where you solder but plug and play the easy way to go

i think ne thing that looks out of the ordinary sets off a light and that when you get pulled over. with so many new car that come out with hids those colors are startingf to look normal so maybe think twice about ne other colors

every one gets either the 12k or 8k and every once in a while 6k or so thats what i normally see any more these days. who care color hids are awsome although 12k are not as bright as 8 and 6 but still alot brighter then stock and work great.

x2 i would agree with this i have a friend with a 08 silverado and his kit is a 6500 it has a very very slight blue tint but its mostly white and bright as hell too
