View Full Version : Seen a Civic get Airborn last night

Coming home from Home Depot going west on McDowell just past power before recker at approx. 5pm. Some civic was driving next to me, and suddenly accelerated, trying to make the turn into a side street/neighborhood at almost 60mph. It looked like their passenger rear tire locked and they couldn't make the turn completely.

So they missed, and ramped off the corner sidewalk/entrance, and flew all the way down into a dirt and stone canal. I stopped to make sure everyone was okay, the front two dudes were wearing their seatbelts and they were fine, just a little beat up from the airbags. The dude in the back wasn't wearing his seatbelt, and his face was all jacked. I offered to pull them out of there, but come to find out, the driver was driving under a suspended license. They said they were getting chased by someone, thats why they took the turn so sharp (um ok). After the parents showed up, I just took off, they seemed to have it under control. Front and rear bumpers jacked up, rad. and all front components smashed, with the oil pan almost completely bashed in with a stone lodged underneath.

They looked like 16/17 year olds.

They launched from the very upper right corner of this picture. Took about 6 inches of the curb with them.

I live right by there. Literally on the other side of the 202 between power and recker. If you see my DSM RSX feel free to honk or something. Im the only decent looking non base model rsx in this part of mesa haha.

Yaaaa. I am pretty sure it was just a story they made and were sticking to. A nearby neighbor came over after hearing it happen, we both rolled our eyes when they said they were "being chased."

Haha, alright. I use to drive down Mcdowell all the time going to MCC Red Mountain. But now that I am going to ASU, I will rarely be driving that way.
