I guess I don't see any appeal to this movie or understand what's so great. Is it one of those movies that certain people get overly excited about? Sort of like the person who gets all wild over Lord of the Rings or Star Wars? After watching this trailer, I had no reaction.

this IS sorta new....its an adaptation of a comic book that branched off the xmen series ;)

ps. hollywood has been doing comic book movies since the 50's, why would they stop now when they make so much money?

I love X-men, I was kinda disappointed at the last one, and now I'm so glad it wasn't really the last one.

I seen Gambit, but... did I just see The Blob?

hmm...lets see, make a movie about a character that already has a pre-existing history and a fanbase or make up some new type of superhero.

take batman vs hancock for example. cant even compare the two.

granted. but there are many drawbacks to this new movie trend.

kids dont fucking read books, they wait for the movies. comics were fun to read and imagine how things would be (granted they were graphic novels) but still some creativity was involved.

now people just take hollywoods word for shit, dont read the book, and we get dumber and dumber as a socieity. our agegroup (16-30) love this genre cause we grew up reading or following these series, think about kids of today.

they read shit like harry potter and they made that into a movie less then four years after publishing.

i didnt see either moive cause im not the biggest action moive fan, but i do get your point about which has more fan appeal, batman/superman or hancock/etc...

I agree, especially the harry potter part, never read it so it doesn't appeal to me. Thankfully the newer versions of superhero movies are getting better and more true to their original stories.

never compare Hancock to Dark Knight!!! Hancock was the biggest crock of shit ive ever encountered. any how, there are good points on both sides. If i do remember correctly, the Dark Knight books depicted Batman as being more sinister and less forgiving, actually killing his enemies.

Either way it was the summer saver of the year, there really wasnt much to chose from this summer so im happy Dark Knight came out when it did. not so sure about this X-Men movie tho, i always thought they were ok but not great movies. we will just have to see

This is all leading to the Avengers movie that's gonna drop sometime in 2010 or so.
It's going to tie in Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Ironman, Incredible Hulk, Capt. America, and Wolverine.

you obviously are not a comic book person...........

I have been waiting for Wolverine to make the bigscreen in a big way for a long time..he has by far the most complex history of any comic book character and the most appeal since he has flaws like the rest of us

Hugh Jackman does a great job considering the restraint they have placed (damn PG-13 BS) making Wolverine come alive

I for one absolutley cannot wait for this to come out
