Since my special order fabric came in earlier this week I thought I would start on my upholstry overhaul tonight. The material is 100% gabardine wool (was not cheap...$25yd). I chose a black on black pinstripe. Hopefully tomorrow I will have the fabric on the headliner and sunroof door. I have a feeling that it will be a bitch to get the stripes to line up on the sunroof door and roof.

Heres the headliner before it goes into the car. there are some bubbles on the left side that should come out with a little steam. Over all I am really happy with it.

the headliner is done. I tried to take pics but there isnt enough lighting in my house for good pics. Ill get some tomorrow once it is installed. The hardest part was up front on the raised area around the map lights and rear view mirror. But overall I think it came out pretty good

Not sure what "gabardine" wool is but is it going to be tough to clean? Looks great though, good job :)

yeah id work on someone elses car. depending on what you want done would dictate the price.
Gabardine wool is basically the type of weave(very tight weave). It is generally used in making suits. I am not exactly sure how I would clean mine...usually gabardine is dry clean only.
If you wanted a simple solid color headliner then you could get a cheaper material. I wanted the pinstripes and that type of design is not usually common for cheaper fabrics.

i want to redo the inside of the car all black. Just trying to price it out before i start. I would do the liner just plain black, not sure of the fabric i would choose though. Not sure of whats all available for it.

A solid color would be easier. You dont have to line up stripes or anything. Just get it tight. If you wanted me to do a solid color Id say $200(no sunroof) $250 with a sunroof. But thats if I have to take it all out and put back in. If you just bring me the pieces to be done... $125 would be good.

redlinegoods does center consoles for the em2. I think their around 40 bucks and they do everything all you have to do is wrap it, but I know your a do it yourselfer so probably doesn't matter.
