from the second image it appears as though you got all of the paint off already... what are your plans for it now? Are you going to paint it, powder coat it or attempt to polish it?
ima paint it red with that wrinkle paint

Great post if you are going to polish yourself or paint it yourself.
I took one down to Affordable Powder Coat and they cleaned it, preped and powder coated it in black for $25, and I cant afford to even buy the materials to do it myself for that price

its cheaper and a great learning experience to do it yourself...air craft remover cost 9 bucks(autozone) and krylon wrinkle red cost 7 bucks(napa) and like 6 hours of your time.and you only use half of the cans of both paint and remover.
btw the way your vc came out real good..i did my own off of flysly's write up
thanks
but i couldn find no red wrinkle paint so i had to buy a black one and then a red one

yup is easier that way if you sand the paint off

Did you bake them or just let it air dry? I need to repaint my vc, its looking pretty crusty.
as far as lettering just put a lite coat of chap stick and paint over it then it will just come off very easy.and for drying i personally air dried mine.
