i used a can of that aircraft paint removal and i let it sit like for five minutes and then i used the pressure washer to remove the paint and this is how it ended up

from the second image it appears as though you got all of the paint off already... what are your plans for it now? Are you going to paint it, powder coat it or attempt to polish it?

Great post if you are going to polish yourself or paint it yourself.

I took one down to Affordable Powder Coat and they cleaned it, preped and powder coated it in black for $25, and I cant afford to even buy the materials to do it myself for that price

aircraft stripper works really well, i did the same thing. looks good. post some pics so we can see how it ends up.

hey before u paint it, i have a guy that can powder coat it and make it look like a typr r valve cover. charged me 60 dollars. i had the valve cover on and not flaked yet.. did a very good job.

its cheaper and a great learning experience to do it yourself...air craft remover cost 9 bucks(autozone) and krylon wrinkle red cost 7 bucks(napa) and like 6 hours of your time.and you only use half of the cans of both paint and remover.

so do u spray the entire VC then sand the paint off the badging? or just mask it before hand?

yup is easier that way if you sand the paint off

Did you bake them or just let it air dry? I need to repaint my vc, its looking pretty crusty.

as far as lettering just put a lite coat of chap stick and paint over it then it will just come off very easy.and for drying i personally air dried mine.

i say you should use... AIR CRAFT REMOVER....works really really great... just be adviced! may cause mean o damage to your concrete

i want to do it glossy black. ya think it would work? with a high heat paint?
